　　设计概念

　　新竹人称风城，就如同它的称号，每到冬天常会吹起九级风，因此抗风为这次候车亭设计中最根本的诉求。整个候车亭的设计，基本上是以机能导向的，旧的公车亭是由叁根立柱与一顶盖组合而成的构架，四面全透，非但不挡风也不挡水。基于旧有物所存在的问题，我们提出几个设计準则：(1)北向一定要有遮避，以阻挡北向不时阵风，让候车旅客不受强风影响。(2)四週被绿带和竹湖环围，整体设计尽量轻量化，视觉穿透性高。

　　Design Concept

　　Hsinchu, known as Windy City, has strong gale during winter time, so “anti-wind” is the most important concerns for designing the bus stop. The traditional bus stop which is composed of three columns and one roof is with no walls and block neither wind nor rain. Compared to the old one, our notions for the bus stop are basically function-oriented. Since there are some architectural defects in the old one, new principles are advanced by us as followed:

　　1. There must be a shelter in the north to block the gust so the waiting passengers have a comfortable space without being disturbed by the stiff wind.

　　2. There are green belt and Chu Lake around the bus stop. The transparent material of the shelter can create an interactive space for the waiting passengers and the environment.

　　结构语汇

　　竹的特性为秆中空，直立有节，因其特有的韧性，遇风时顺应风势产生的弯曲，也极富曲线美，我们企图将这样的特性转化成结构的语汇，将结构上所有转角的部分导成圆角，增强结构遇风时的韧性，使北向立面在风大时拥有3-5公分的晃动空间;收边的部分刻意不加以包覆，裸露出H型钢的断面，暗示竹子中空的形象。而后方四根独立的骨架轻轻扶住叁片高达叁米二的全透强化玻璃，整体可视为一完整构架，遇风时会产生前后晃动的抵抗能力。另外，主体是由3mm的钢板构成，我们在表面挖出线形的pattern，内嵌LED灯，衬托出结构弯曲的线条，也暗示竹节的优雅和质感。

　　Illustration of Structure

　　Bamboo is symbols of strength, flexibility, tenacity, endurance and compromise. Its suppleness assures its survival in the strongest wind and plus its elegant curvature while bending. We tried to transform the images of bamboo into the meanings of our designs. The round-shaped corner can improve the toughness against strong winds and leave a swinging range of 3 to 5 cm at the northern shelter. The uncovered H-shaped steel in the edges symbolize the cannulation of bamboo. There are four independent skeletons in the rear of the framework supporting a 3.2-meter high tempered glass. The whole structure swings against the wind and forms the resistance. Besides, the main structure is made of 3mm steel plate. The surface is a linear pattern with LED lights embedded. The curve of the structure symbolizes the gracefulness and nature of bamboo.

　　环境对话

　　基地后方为交大十六景之首的竹湖，故后方立面的设计，在结构的可负荷量下，将量体精简至最小，尽可能将玻璃的面积放到最大，让竹湖的景色映射进来，成为一幅诗情画意的山水画。而夜晚时，来往的车灯、夜归的游子、候车亭的线灯，搭配上后方的竹湖，层层影像叠合在一起不断闪逝，成为一场舞台剧。立面的玻璃爬到顶上，当落叶飘落到亭上时，会铺成出另一种纹理，阳光透过叶片产生的光影，增添一种自然的层次。

　　Dialogue With Environment

　　Behind the bus stop is the Chu Lake. The glass is for the scene of Chu lake to pass through, turning into a beautiful picture. At night, lights of the cars, shadows of returning students, linear lights of the bus stop, mix with the Chu Lake and becomes a stage show. The glass extends to the top. When leaves fall on the stop, different pattern shows up. The sunshine passes through the leaves and forms the light show, flavoring the nature beauty of it.

　　整体架构

　　骨架部分分为主结构与次结构两部分，各成一独立系统，主结构为主要的整体架构，次结构则为玻璃的支撑梁，为了增加视觉上的穿透性，采用大片强化玻璃。因弯曲的造形可以增加结构上的韧性，遇强风时会造成整体晃动，像竹子般摇曳。另外，整体架构内外都覆盖上3mm厚的钢板;细部抓具也具有180度的弯曲空间。

　　The structure of the bus stop can be divided into two independent systems: the major part and the minor part. The major part is the framework of the structure while the minor part is the buttress of the tempered glass. The use of tempered glass is for increasing the transparency. The curvature design for the minor structure strengthens the tenacity of the bus stop. When the strong wind occurs, the swinging of the bus stop feels like the bending of the bamboo. Moreover, the inner and the outer structures are covered with 3mm steel plates so that it has the flexuosity up to 180 degree.

　　夜

　　候车亭主体与地面上所装设的澄黄灯条，不仅暗示着竹节的pattern，同时具有导引的意味，引领人的视线。在延长快门下拉长的行进中车灯影像，同时在此被诠释出来，像是车速被凝结似的，时间空间匯集进这样的一个休憩站，让等候不再空虚。加上后方玻璃映衬出周遭景物，视觉穿透看到的湖面，行走或留滞的人们，四周的灯景加上往来的车辆，让玻璃像展示幕般，上演着种种戏码，每一刻所发生的故事都被烙印其中。

　　About Night

　　The orange light set in the ground and the major part of the bus stop is not only the hint of the pattern of bamboo joints but also a kind of guidance. Lead people’s vision forward. It parallel interprets the speed of cars. When taking a long shutter photo, light of cars been lengthen simultaneously. Thus, the shape of the light is just like the frozen image of time. In this situation, time and space were interlaced in this rest station. Let waiting people filled with content of feeling. In addition, the reflection of the glass makes the bus stop like a showcase. Still lake, people walking by, someone stay for bus, all the light around, and the passing cars bring out an excellent performance. Every story was been printed all the time.

　　The orange light bar set on the ground and the major part of the bus stop are not only hints of the pattern of bamboo joints but also a kind of guidance, which draws people’s attention. Photo taken with a long exposure stretches the lights of cars, and depicts that the speeds of cars seem to be frozen in the mean time. Time and space are put together into this rest area, making waiting no longer boring. Meanwhile, the reflection of the glass let the bus stop just like a showcase. Still lake, people walking by or staying, lights all around, and cars passing by present an excellent show. Stories of every moment are all recorded and shown loyally.
